A Canada strong, a Canada beautiful A vision of a True North strong and cool He saw its greatness, he saw its flaws In our country he gave us a common cause
Rights and freedoms, a charter passed A real Canadian to his moment last A nation to fight for, a country once so meek He was our champion, for he was not weak
A man with vision, a man of wisdom A man who nurtured our rancorous kingdom When his moment came to its end We realized, it was now our nation to fail or mend
Will we go left or will we go right? Will we make the dream Canada dark or bright? Our vast land stretching so far east and west Geography lessons have put our history to the test
From the border of America to our far northern shore
We saw in his life a glimpse of greatness, this man we have come to adore Farewell my hero, farewell we all clap You made Canada a G(r)8 nation and put us on the map
May you rest in peace as from eternity you cheer for us All those who fight for, duty, honour and trust But we will always remember your lofty ideals' health Peace, justice and love for earth’s commonwealth
